The Evangelical (Protestant) Church in Dierdorf

This photo page is credited to Rege Zagrocki, a decendant of Johan Immet Berger & Johan Herbert Berger 1735-1815

The present Dierdorf Evangelical/Protestant church was built in 1903/04 out of stone from the Dierdorf fortress demolished in 1902.  The old church, St. Jakobus, was erected in 1200.

Although its appearance blends with the church, the bell tower is an older construction.  It contains three bells:  the Prayer Bell (1463), the Reconciliation Bell (1894), and the Awakening Bell (1960).
